In 2011 Cobourg Development Services (CDS) requested a custom website where they could manage photo galleries showing their project work. I Project Managed the full site design with a customized content management system.
Later, their domain name, cobourgdevelopmentservices.com, accidentally expired and was quickly purchased by a link-building operation in 2014 causing the site to go offline. I advised that they buy a shorter domain name so that their clients could remember it and to eliminate complaints when typing emails. So, cds-ltd.ca was created. I moved the site over to the new domain name, and assisted with creating all of the company email accounts as well as setting up those accounts on various devices.
Another disaster struck in 2015 – this time the their MySQL DB was lost, bringing their site down yet again! Feeling bad for the client, I quickly installed WordPress and set up a free theme for them at no cost. I then uploaded the original content that I had from the 2011 build, provided them access and showed them how to manage WordPress.
This is what the site looked like when the custom CMS was operational, prior to the hosting account problem detailed above.
